MICHAEL MOORE HATES AMERICA (2004)
| SHORT REVIEW: Exactly like Michael Moore’s work except there’s facts, humility, kindness, humor, transparency, concern for others, self examination, intelligence, fairness and 400 less pounds. This is easily the best of the anti-Michael Moore films from last year. Unlike Fahrenhype 9/11 and Celsius 41.11, this film has an average guy tone that is more documentary than FoxNews specal. Filmmaker Mike Wilson offers a calm retort to the shrieking blubbering mass that is Moore. Patiently, Wilson raises Moore’s lies and exposes the trickery. If you have someone who loves Moore and denies the falsehoods in his work, have them watch this film. While this is certainly an attack piece, but it is a polite and relatively respectful one. It doesn’t stoop to my level and call Moore The Grand Sea Lion of Misinformation, he keeps everything above board. I respect Wilson for going out of his way to keep the argument on an even keel. To go my direction and claim that it is possible that Moore fudges events because it reminds him of dessert is just cheap and hurts the cause. The only notable flaw in the piece is a quick psychoanalysis of Moore presented as fact. To have anyone state on Moore's mental health without performing an actual examination is a tad specious. One can assassinate his character by using his own words and deeds without having to trump up hollow clinical denouncements. It’s not factual and borders on the kind of trickery that has made Moore rich. I highly recommend this film. To take it one step further, I urge you to buy it this film. Do not just rent it. Why? If you are of a conservative bent, it is vital to support conservative works like this. We complain that Hollywood doesn’t speak to us and openly mocks our beliefs. The best way to combat this is by putting your money where your beliefs are. The more money conservative filmmakers like Wilson make, the more attention they receive and the more movies they can make in the future. This is how movements are kept alive. Facts?? What facts does this movie have?
And even though not everything in Michael Moore's movie is water-proof, there are a lot of facts in it. You can deny that. Hm, well, of course you can. Conservatives are known for ignoring facts.
I would never deny that Moore has factual information in his "documentaries". The problem is that they are dragged down by his open lies and misrepresentations.
By the way, what did you think of "Michael Moore Hates America"? I'll assume from your implusive kick at conservatives that you are of a liberal bent. It would be interesting to hear your view on this film's opinions.
I think it is interesting that daidianus has no response to your very open and thoughtful retort. I cant beleive Michael Moore has such die hard fans who are willing to defend someone who lies and manipulates truths to convince them to see from his own twisted point of view.
